You rely on healthcare providers to help you feel your best. Unfortunately, the health care system makes it difficult for providers to spend as much time with patients as they would like. As a result, many providers can only treat symptoms and struggle to address the cause of the problem.
At Zink Dental, we’re dedicated to identifying the root cause of your health problems, often Airway Dysfunction. Many adults suffer from a small, collapsible airway as a result of tongue tie, crowded mouth, mouth breathing, or improper jaw development and don’t even realize it. Airway Dysfunction can impact almost every aspect of your health, including:
Dr. Zink is the only doctor in Idaho that limits his practice to Airway Dental Medicine, a type of dentistry that works to improve the face, airway, tongue, bite, and breathing permanently. He is a licensed dentist with extensive post-graduate education and experience in a medical-dental integrative setting.
Dr. Zink suffered from airway issues his entire life. As a child, he had oral surgery to uncover two permanent teeth that were impacted in the palate, braces for four years of high school, and a permanent retainer. Unfortunately, 5 years later he lost his permanent retainer, and within a year his teeth completely moved back. He couldn’t even bite down properly. He felt like all his treatments were wasted.
Years later, as an established dentist approaching middle age, he found himself with straight teeth and an entirely new set of problems: chronic fatigue. It didn’t seem to matter how much sleep he got; he always woke up unrefreshed. He would struggle with low energy all day and often fall asleep around 9 PM while trying to watch TV.
While researching treatment options for his 4-year-old son’s snoring, restless sleep, and improper jaw development, Dr. Zink discovered the connection between the airway and the jaw. When the jaw doesn’t grow properly, the airway is restricted and the body must work harder to take in enough oxygen. This can lead to lifelong health problems, many of which might seem unrelated.
Today, he offers airway dental medicine treatments to help adults and children alike take back control of their lives, regain their energy levels, and look and feel better than they ever have. His treatments are customized to address your unique problems and jaw growth, so you can live the longest, healthiest life possible.
